Vice-Rector Academic, St Leo's College

(This is a re-advertised position) 

St Leo’s College is a Catholic men’s residential College conducted by the Christian Brothers and affiliated within The University of Queensland. It is an academic, collegiate community with its own distinctive purpose and ethos, focused on the academic and pastoral support of the 214 male residents aged 17-22, undertaking tertiary studies.

From 1 March 2012, there will be a vacancy for the fulltime position –

VICE-RECTOR ACADEMIC

This is a position which requires the necessary academic, administrative and pastoral qualifications and experience that demonstrate the capacity to promote in the residents an appreciation for academic excellence, self-discipline and a quest for knowledge. This position requires the applicant to play a vital role in the close association of the College with the University of Queensland.  The applicant would be encouraged in the pursuit of further personal academic engagement with the University.

The Vice Rector Academic  must be supportive of the ethos of a Catholic community and demonstrate a commitment to fostering the intellectual, ethical and spiritual life of residents in a Catholic environment, irrespective of religious affiliation. In collaboration with the College Leadership Team the Vice Rector Academic engages proactively with the Student Club Executive in the planning, management and discipline of College social, sporting and cultural events.  This is not a residential position.

This position is considered child related employment and the preferred applicants will be subjected to employment screening in accordance with the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000.
